Saudi Entertainment Sector Draws Over 89 Million Visitors in 2025

Saudi Arabia’s entertainment sector attracted more than 89 million visitors in 2025, the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) announced in its annual report for the regulatory affairs sector.

This figure is a strong testament to the growing activity achieved in the sector, as part of a regulatory framework designed to boost experience quality, bolster compliance, and develop related procedures, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

Robust Entertainment Activity

According to the report, the entertainment sector hosted 1,690 events, with a total of 75,661 event days. Moreover, 6,778 companies took part in the sector’s activities over the past year.

The report also highlighted that the sector issued a total of 6,490 licenses during 2025. The number of licensed entertainment destinations over the past year rose to 472, from 422 destinations in 2024, accounting for a 12% increase.

Meanwhile, the total number of active entertainment destinations jumped to 975, compared to 513 destinations in 2024.

Compliance and Regulations

In terms of compliance and experience quality indicators, investor adherence to GEA regulations hit 92%, while authorized events and licensed destinations reached 95% and 93% respectively.

Furthermore, entertainment quality improved by 65%, with visitor satisfaction tracking now covering 74% of entertainment options.

With regards to oversight and violation reduction, the report indicated increased investor awareness and higher compliance levels within the sector.

This led to a 25.8% decrease in recorded violations, dropping from 6,290 in 2024 to 4,662 in 2025. Additionally, 92,025 inspection visits were conducted, covering all administrative regions across the Kingdom.

Visitor Experience

As for visitor experience measurement, visitor satisfaction reached an impressive 95% across the entertainment sector, backed by over 755,000 survey responses and 9,400 field inspections to ensure continuous quality control.

The GEA has hit major regulatory milestones in 2025, issuing 1,132 investor certificates and conducting more than 3,500 field visits to ensure sector excellence.

Strategic efforts in consumer advocacy led to the handling of nearly 6,000 complaints, while legislative collaborations with 45 government bodies have modernized the industry’s legal landscape.

As the Kingdom’s primary entertainment regulator, the GEA is transforming the national experience in line with Vision 2030, focusing on investor empowerment and high-quality service delivery for all visitors to cement Saudi Arabia’s position as a premier entertainment destination.
