The Saudi Minister of Defense, Prince Khalid bin Salman, on Monday received a phone call from the US Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
During the phone call, both defense chiefs reviewed the Saudi-US relations and explored prospects for strengthening defense cooperation.
Moreover, the two officials discussed the recent developments in the region and efforts to address them, as well as their shared vision to promote regional and international security and stability. They also discussed other topics of mutual interest.
According to the Pentagon readout of the call, Prince Khalid and Hegseth exchanged views on the regional security situation and discussed opportunities for expanding the Saudi-US defense partnership.
In February, the Saudi Defense Minister met with the US Secretary of Defense at the Pentagon. During their meeting, they emphasized the enduring friendship and strategic partnership between the two countries. Both defense officials explored ways to bolster the defense and military partnership between Saudi Arabia and the US.
