The Saudi Minister of Defense, Prince Khalid bin Salman, on Saturday held a phone call with the US Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, to underscore bilateral defense partnership, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
During the call, the Saudi Defense Minister extended his congratulations to his American counterpart on his appointment as Secretary of Defense.
Furthermore, both officials reviewed the Saudi-US relations and explored ways to advance strategic cooperation in the defense sector. They also discussed efforts to establish international peace and security.
According to the US Department of Defense’s readout of the call, Prince Khalid and Hegseth reaffirmed the critical defense partnership between Saudi Arabia and the US.
Moreover, the US Secretary of Defense welcomed Saudi Arabia’s contributions to regional security. He also encouraged continued collaboration between both countries on shared challenges. Both defense officials agreed to remain in contact and coordinate closely on areas of mutual interest.
