Saudi Culture Ministry, GEA sign MoU to enhance cooperation

Ministry of Culture and General Entertainment Authority (GEA) have inked a “memorandum of understanding” aimed at growing the Kingdom’s cultural and entertainment industries.

A pact of cooperation between the two sectors was signed by Minister of Culture Prince Badr and Counselor Turki Al-Sheikh, Head of the Entertainment Authority.

The agreement of understanding covered cooperation on the implementation of the eleven cultural bodies’ strategies,

it also included coordination between the two sectors on license and permission issuance and licensing content.

The two parties agreed to collaborate on developing capacities and classifying culture and entertainment professions as part of the MoU.

The pact calls for increased investment in cultural and entertainment sectors, as well as the cooperative implementation of culturally themed recreational activities.

The memorandum was written to improve the cultural substance of the Kingdom’s events and activities, as well as to focus on establishing cultural and entertainment events.
