Saudi-Austrian Joint Committee Concludes its 9th Session in Vienna

The Saudi-Austrian Joint Committee concluded Tuesday its ninth session in Vienna, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The Saudi Minister of Economy and Planning, Faisal Al-Ibrahim, led the Saudi delegation, which included representatives from 22 government entities. The Joint Committee meetings, held on May 28-29, 2024, featured discussions, bilateral meetings, field and cultural visits, in addition to holding the Saudi-Austrian Investment Forum.

The Saudi-Austrian Joint Committee was co-chaired by the Deputy Minister for International Economic Affairs at the Saudi Ministry of Economy and Planning, Albara Al-Askandarani, and the Director General of Economic Affairs, Innovation, and International Policy at Austria’s Federal Ministry of Labor and Economy, Florian Frauscher.

The Joint Committee’s ninth session focused on discussing ways to enhance economic cooperation and development between the two countries. It also included signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Saudi Ministry of Economy and Planning and the Austrian Federal Ministry of Labor and Economy.

The MoU aims to diversify and strengthen economic ties, including economic modelling and experience exchange. It also encourages cooperation in various sectors, such as trade, industry, research and development, tourism, and areas of common interest.

Since its establishment in 2004, the Saudi-Austrian Joint Committee has been instrumental in fostering bilateral cooperation in various fields. The successful conclusion of the ninth session underscores the commitment of Saudi Arabia and Austria to enhance economic cooperation and boost mutual growth across various sectors.
