Saudi Arabia Works with US to Address Common Challenges
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan expressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s aspiration to work with the US to confront common challenges and maintain security and stability in the region.
This came during the phone call the Saudi minister received from his US counterpart Anthony Blinken, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The two ministers reviewed the historical and strategic relations between the two countries, in addition to a number of issues of common concern.
The US Department of Defense confirmed that Saudi Arabia is still a partner in the fight against terrorism in the region.
“We will support Saudi Arabia to defend its sovereignty against threats,” Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said, noting that Washington’s support for Riyadh is not military and that it has the right to defend itself.
