Saudi Arabia concluded its participation in Expo Doha 2023 for Horticulture with 5 awards and world record numbers, attracting 1.8 million visitors to the Saudi pavilion.
On this occasion, the General Supervisor of Saudi Arabia’s participation in the exhibition, Saleh bin Abdulmohsen bin Dakhil, stated that the pavilion provided an innovative digital experience for agricultural and environmental sustainability projects. Dakhil also said it showcased successful Saudi initiatives totaling more than 80. These initiatives revolved around the main objectives of the exhibition.
He also presented best practices and innovations in horticulture and environmental sustainability. The goal was to motivate the global community and investigate, embrace, and facilitate innovative and sustainable approaches for addressing desertification.
Dakhil added that the unique experience offered by the pavilion was instrumental in harvesting 5 awards and global record numbers. With 435 displays, the Saudi Pavilion achieved a pioneering achievement by breaking the Guinness World Record for the most outdoor display screens
Additionally, the pavilion received the gold medal in the MUSE Creative Awards for Creative Design in the Exhibitions and Events category. It also won the French Design Awards for Architectural and Interior Design category. Also, it was awarded the LIV Design Award for Architectural Design category, along with the silver award from the International Exhibitions Bureau in the Self-Built Pavilions category at Expo 2023 Doha.
Dakhil explained that the pavilion’s unique appearance and effective initiatives attracted global dignitaries, leaders, and delegations. He confirmed that the pavilion enhanced opportunities for communication, understanding, and cultural exchange. It also worked to strengthen international relations between Saudi Arabia and the world. The pavilion welcomed visitors from various countries. Furthermore, the exhibitors spoke in seven different languages, including Arabic, English, French, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, and Persian.
Through many innovative sections, the pavilion showcased Saudi Arabia’s diversity in the present and future. It highlighted its diverse terrain and its role in empowering agriculture. Also, it emphasized ambitious vision initiatives, large-scale sustainability projects, and contributions to global environmental challenges.
It is worth mentioning that Saudi Arabia’s participation in the Expo Doha 2023 for Horticulture began on October 2nd. The focus was on introducing diverse and innovative solutions in combating desertification and overcoming environmental challenges through four axes. These axes are modern agriculture, technology and innovation, environmental awareness, and sustainability.
It adopted the inspiring slogan “Green Desert… Better Environment” to enrich and enhance international contributions towards achieving a green future. It also emphasized the ambitious goals of Saudi Vision 2030 to enhance quality of life and achieve a more sustainable future, including the Saudi Green Initiative and the Middle East Green Initiative.
