Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced on Sunday the official calendar for the upcoming 1448 AH Umrah season, aiming to streamline procedures and improve the overall pilgrim experience. Consequently, officials will utilize advanced digital systems to facilitate services.

To begin with, authorities launched preliminary agreements between domestic companies and overseas agents on 4 March, 2026. Subsequently, partners signed initial agreements during the Umrah and Ziyarah Forum on 30 March.

Furthermore, the ministry held essential preparatory meetings on 5 May, as officials set to finalize the contracting and qualification of external agents on 11 May.

Operational Timelines and Visa Issuance

Currently, service providers are completing contracts and package designs through the ministry’s electronic platform. Thereafter, the ministry will begin issuing Umrah visas and welcoming foreign arrivals on 31 May, 2026 (14 Dhu Al-Hijjah 1447 AH). Additionally, pilgrims can obtain their Umrah permits via the Nusuk application starting 1 June, 2026.

Looking ahead, the ministry set 9 March, 2027, as the final deadline for issuing Umrah visas. Meanwhile, 23 March, 2027, remains the last date for international pilgrims to enter the Kingdom. Finally, the ministry designated 7 April, 2027, as the final departure date for all pilgrims.

A Call for Global Compliance

Therefore, the ministry demands strict compliance with these dates from all operating companies.

“We urge all Umrah companies and overseas agents to adhere strictly to the approved schedule,” a ministry official stated. “Ultimately, compliance with these regulations ensures high-quality services and safety for all guests of Islam throughout the season.”
