Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense will host the first-ever Saudi Military History Forum in September 2026, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Organized in collaboration with the King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives (Darah) and Taif University’s Taif History Center, the forum is designed to document the military heritage of Saudi Arabia and illustrate the evolution of the Armed Forces throughout the history.
The Saudi Military History Forum will focus on four main themes, addressing the military foundation of the Kingdom, the role of Taif Governorate in the emergence of the Saudi Army, the historical development of the Armed Forces, and sources for documenting Saudi military history.

By targeting history and military science scholars, the forum advances specialized research, fosters knowledge exchange, and consolidates cooperation between academic, documentation, and military bodies.
The forum will feature a range of scientific and educational activities, including peer-reviewed paper presentations, expert-led dialogue sessions, a historical exhibition, and site visits to various military landmarks of historical value.
On this occasion, the Ministry of Defense invited researchers and academics to submit research abstracts and scientific papers via the King Abdulaziz Foundation’s digital platform.
The deadline for abstract submissions is May 15, 2026, while June 30, 2026, is the final date for submitting full research papers.
