Saudi Arabia will host the final round of World Rally Championship (WRC) 2025, the Saudi Ministry of Sports announced.
The event will run from November 27 to November 30, 2025, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA). The Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation (SAMF) and Saudi Motorsport Company (SMC) will organize the event, under the supervision of the Ministry of Sports in collaboration with the WRC.
Unique Event
In June, the Kingdom signed an agreement to host the World Rally Championship for ten years, under the name “Saudi Rally,” starting from 2025. The WRC will kick off on January 23, 2025, in Monte Carlo. Then, it will span Africa, Asia, Europe, and Latin America before arriving to Saudi Arabia.
The first edition of “Saudi Rally” will feature three diverse terrains, adding more vibrancy and excitement to the Championship. Moreover, the Kingdom will host the Championship’s qualifying rounds, on February 21-22, 2025.
Saudi Leadership Support
On this occasion, Prince Khalid Bin Sultan Al Abdullah Al-Faisal, Chairman of the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation and the Saudi Motorsport Company, attributed these landmark achievements to the unwavering support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman.
He also thanked the Minister of Sports, Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal, for his efforts that resulted in hosting some of the world’s largest sports events.
Saudi Arabia’s Transformation
Prince Khalid Bin Sultan stressed the significance of hosting such major sporting events. He said: “We are thrilled to host the FIA World Rally Championship for the first time in 2025. The arrival of another racing series of global stature in Saudi Arabia confirms the extent of our transformation into a major hub for motorsport in the region.”
He added that these efforts come in line with Vision 2030 and its objectives. “By growing our motorsport portfolio and further increasing our commitment to hosting major motorsport series such as WRC in the Kingdom, we remain true to the goals of Vision 2030 which aims to improve the lives of all Saudis,” he noted.
“We will use the experience we have gained from delivering so many world-class motorsport events to ensure that the Saudi edition on the WRC calendar is one of the standout events of the 2025 season and beyond,” he said.
