Saudi Arabia Signs Headquarters Agreement with Council of Arab Cybersecurity Ministers

Saudi Arabia has signed a headquarters agreement with the Council of Arab Cybersecurity Ministers to designate the city of Riyadh as its permanent headquarters.

The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the first regular session of the Council of Arab Cybersecurity Ministers, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

According to the agreement, Riyadh will be the permanent headquarters of the council and its affiliated bodies, including the General Secretariat and the Executive Office.

Established based on Saudi Arabia’s proposal, the council consists of Arab ministers responsible for cyber security affairs.

Furthermore, it falls within the scope of the Arab League and plays its role under the umbrella of the league’s council.

In the light of this, the council particularly decides general policies and developing strategies and sets priorities to strengthen joint Arab cybersecurity efforts.
Furthermore, it addresses all cybersecurity issues at various levels such as security, economy, development, and legislation.

The council is also responsible for approving joint Arab cybersecurity plans designed to fulfill the council’s policies and strategies.
