Saudi Arabia says F-15S fighter jet crashes, crew unharmed
The Saudi Ministry of Defense said in a statement Monday that one of its combat aircraft crashed as a result of a technical malfunction. The crash happened during a routine training mission in the ”King Abdulaziz Air Base” training area in the Eastern Province.
The official spokesman for the ministry, Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki, added in a statement reported by the Saudi Press Agency, “SPA”: “At 22:52 local time on Sunday evening, one of the Royal Saudi Air Force’s F-15S fighter planes crashed as a result of a technical malfunction. During a training mission in the training area of King Abdulaziz Air Base in the Eastern Province”.
Brigadier General Al-Maliki pointed out that the aircrew, consisting of two officers, survived, pointing out that there were no injuries or losses as a result of the crash, explaining that an investigation committee “has started its tasks to find out the details of the causes of the accident.”
