Saudi Arabia, Qatar Bolster Bilateral Relations during Coordination Council Meeting
Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani co-chaired the meeting of the Executive Committee of the Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council in Riyadh on Sunday, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
At the outset of the meeting, Prince Faisal warmly welcomed Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani and the Qatari delegation to Saudi Arabia wishing them a perfect stay.
The minister also highlighted that the meeting aims basically at enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries and pushing these relations towards broader horizons. The prince also emphasized that both Saudi and Qatari leaderships consider the Coordination Council as a platform that consolidates fraternal relations and fulfills the visions of both countries.
In his speech, the Qatari Prime Minister commended the pivotal efforts made by the committees emanating from the Council for fully doing the following tasks:
- Updating the list of initiatives
- Creating and innovating new initiatives
- Introducing measurable and implementable milestones
- Setting a time frame for all milestones of the initiatives
Sheikh Mohammed stressed that the current meeting is an affirmation of their commitment to making use of all opportunities between the two countries, exchanging views, and achieving the Council’s achievements and qualitative initiatives.
“Today we are witnessing the fruits of the great efforts made by the heads of the sub committees, their working teams, liaison officers and the General Secretariat team since the beginning of the 8th session of the Qatari-Saudi Coordination Council. This session is responsible for joint cooperation between us as we seek to continue our cooperation with strength and determination to achieve the required results,” the Qatari prime minister said.
