Furthermore, the Saudi Defense Minister and the French Armed Forces Minister discussed the latest regional developments and efforts made towards promoting peace in the Middle East and the world. They also explored various topics of mutual interest.
Several senior defense officials and diplomats from Saudi Arabia and France attended the meeting.
In October, Prince Khalid bin Salman met with the French Delegate General for Armaments, Emmanuel Chiva, in Riyadh. They discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in the field of military industries.
The Saudi Defense Minister also met with the French Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Patrick Maisonnave. They explored ways to enhance bilateral relations and discussed the latest regional developments.
Saudi Arabia and France enjoy a longstanding relation and a strategic partnership across various fields. In the light of this, France’s President, Emmanuel Macron, is set to arrive in Saudi Arabia on a state visit, from December 2-4, 2024.
The visit aims to deepen cooperation in strategic areas, such as defense, security, and energy transition. Moreover, the French President will participate in the One Water Summit, which will take place on the sidelines of COP16 in Riyadh.
