Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Eng. Waleed El-Khereiji addressed an emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Thursday in Jeddah, representing Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan during discussions about Israeli decisions concerning occupied Palestinian territory. El-Khereiji thanked Palestine for calling this extraordinary session among Islamic foreign ministers.
“We meet today with a shared conviction that the policies and practices of the Israeli occupation authorities constitute the greatest threat to security and peace,” El-Khereiji declared. He emphasized determination to confront this threat through coordinated positions and strengthened joint Islamic action among member states.
The deputy FM condemned unprecedented Israeli aggression against occupied Palestinian territories continuing in flagrant violation of international laws. He criticized measures expanding settlement activity, deepening annexation, and imposing alleged Israeli sovereignty over the occupied West Bank.
No Israeli Sovereignty Over Palestinian Land
“The Kingdom reiterates that there is no sovereignty for Israel over the occupied Palestinian land,” El-Khereiji stated firmly. He expressed absolute rejection of plans violating international law and UN Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2334. Saudi Arabia condemns settlement activities altering demographic composition and legal status of Palestinian territory occupied since 1967.
El-Khereiji reaffirmed condemnation of Israeli decisions classifying West Bank lands as so-called “state property.” He said such plans seek to impose new legal realities and undermine peace efforts across the region.
The deputy FM stressed the Global Alliance for Implementation of the Two-State Solution unifies international efforts effectively. He affirmed Saudi commitment to continuing this path with brotherly countries for just comprehensive peace. This approach fulfills Palestinian aspirations for self-determination and an independent state under the Arab Peace Initiative.
He noted the New York Declaration, comprehensive peace plan, and UN Security Council Resolution 2803 form an integrated framework. El-Khereiji emphasized supporting Palestinian National Authority while building institutional capacities and ensuring Gaza-West Bank linkage.
US Coordination and Regional Stability
El-Khereiji commended efforts led by US President Donald Trump regarding the comprehensive peace plan implementation. He noted coordination with the United States represents a genuine opportunity to end the conflict permanently. This cooperation moves toward regional integration and sustainable stability throughout the Middle East region.
The deputy FM expressed concern over rising military tensions and increasingly hostile rhetoric among regional actors. He called for restraint, de-escalation, and resolving disputes through diplomatic means exclusively. Sustainable peace requires dialogue, mutual respect, and non-interference in internal affairs of all states.
Saudi Arabia condemns any violation of sovereignty of any OIC member state without exception. The Kingdom remains committed to stability and peace throughout the Islamic world and beyond.
