Saudi Arabia on Wednesday welcomed the United Nations Human Rights Council‘s unanimous adoption of a resolution addressing Iran’s unprovoked attacks against the Kingdom and regional partners. The council’s decision during its 61st session demonstrates strong international solidarity with Gulf states facing external threats.
“The council’s adoption of the resolution by consensus of its members reflects the unified rejection by the international community of the Iranian attacks,” Saudi foreign ministry stated. This landmark decision condemns these heinous acts as serious violations of human rights across the Middle East region.
Sovereignty Violations Cannot Stand
Riyadh reiterated its firm condemnation of Iranian attacks targeting the Kingdom and neighboring countries throughout the Gulf region. The ministry emphasized that such actions violate fundamental principles of international law and peaceful coexistence among nations.
“[The attacks] constitute a flagrant violation of states’ sovereignty and territorial integrity and a clear violation of international conventions and international law,” the ministry declared, stressing that targeting countries which remain outside the conflict represents a blatant act of aggression that cannot be justified or accepted.
Regional Unity Strengthens Response
The Kingdom also stressed that it stands alongside Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, the UAE, and Jordan in rejecting these unlawful military actions. Consequently, this unified position strengthens diplomatic efforts to maintain regional stability and protect civilian populations from harm.
Saudi diplomats continue working with international partners to ensure accountability for these violations. Furthermore, the government remains committed to peaceful dialogue while defending national sovereignty against all external threats.
