The announcement came after Shawwal crescent moon was sighted at Sudair and Tamir observatories in Saudi Arabia on Saturday evening, according to Al-Arabiya.
The sighting committees started the process of Eid Al-Fitr crescent sighting at sunset in the Kingdom. Earlier this week, the Supreme Court called on Muslims nationwide to observe the Shawwal crescent moon and requested that anyone who spots the crescent moon—either with the naked eye or binoculars—should report their sighting.
Furthermore, the UAE and Qatar confirmed that Sunday will mark the first day of Eid Al-Fitr 2025.
