Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Court confirmed that Friday, March 20, marks the first day of the blessed Eid Al-Fitr celebration across the Kingdom.
Moon-sighting committees gathered at various observatories to search the clear desert horizon for the Shawwal crescent moon on Wednesday evening. Since observers did not spot the new crescent during their extensive surveillance operations, Ramadan will last thirty complete days this year.
Qatar, Bahrain, UAE and Kuwait also followed Saudi Arabia, announcing that Eid Al-Fitr starts on Friday.
