Saudi Arabia has reaffirmed its support for Palestinian refugees by contributing $2 million to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). The donation was presented in Jordan by Saudi Ambassador Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Farhan to Acting Commissioner-General Christian Saunders, forming part of the Kingdom’s annual funding for the agency’s operations and programs.

Prince Mansour emphasized that the contribution reflects Saudi Arabia’s ongoing commitment to the Palestinian cause, in line with its leadership’s directives. He underscored the importance of sustaining UNRWA’s budget so it can continue delivering essential services—including education, healthcare, and humanitarian aid—especially given current challenges in the region. He also highlighted the agency’s key role in easing the hardships faced by Palestinian refugees.
In response, Saunders expressed gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s consistent backing, noting that such support is crucial for maintaining UNRWA’s programs and assisting those in need.
