Rwandan President Paul Kagame left Riyadh today after his landmark trip to Saudi Arabia to attend the World Economic Forum Special Meeting on Global Collaboration, Growth and Energy for Development, reported Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Deputy Governor of Riyadh Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz and other senior officials bid farewell to the Rwandan President today at King Khalid International Airport.
On Sunday, Kagame participated in a panel discussion themed “A New Vision for Global Development”, reviewing Rwanda’s recovery journey over the past 30 years.
“Rwanda has come back from dead, but we are alive and thriving today. It is investments in our people, accountability and governance that we bring into play and which we share with the rest of the continent,” Kagame said.
He praised Africa’s continuous growth to achieve economic breakthrough and overcome various challenges. “We are seeing Africa, much as you may find problems here and there, Africa is coming together, Africa is moving forward. Different countries have decided to embrace the growth of the economy,” Kagame added.
On the sidelines of the meeting, President Kagame met and held talks with Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on the productive collaboration between Rwanda and the IMF.
