Royal Commission for AlUla Inaugurates AlUla Exhibition in China
The Royal Commission for AlUla Governorate inaugurated the second edition of the ‘AlUla: Oasis of Wonders in the Arabian Peninsula’ exhibition at The Palace Museum in Beijing, reported Akhbaar24.
The exhibition is an extension of efforts to build bridges of communication and enhance cultural and civilizational cooperation between the two friendly countries.
The event will run from January 5, 2024, to March 24, 2024, showcasing the history and cultural heritage of AlUla.
It presents a journey through the rich history and treasures of ancient civilizations and the profound cultural heritage of Al-Ula, spanning centuries.
The exhibition also showcases the most prominent heritage sites in Dadan, Hegra, Qura, and the Old Town.
Moreover, its aim is to acquaint visitors with the natural beauty and rich cultural heritage of Al-Ula, through a wide array of rare artifacts. These include unique statues, pottery, inscriptions, and documentary films.
Additionally, it will also present the “Journey Through Time” plan’s innovative design.
Abdulrahman Al-Harbi, the Saudi Ambassador to China, Wang Xudong, the Director of the Palace Museum attended the opening.
Also, several officials from the Royal Commission for Al-Ula Governorate, as well as diplomats, government officials, and a select group of intellectuals, media professionals, and those interested in civilization and history attended the event.
Previous Editions
The exhibition was previously held at the Arab World Institute in Paris in October 2019.
The Minister of Culture and Governor of the Royal Commission for Al-Ula Governorate, Prince Badr bin Farhan inaugurated the exhibition.
Unique Aspects of Each Site
Each site at the exhibition offers a glimpse into AlUla’s diverse history. Key attractions include Dadan statues from the Dadan and Lihyan Kingdoms. In addition, films will depict the Al-Hijr’s mountain-carved tombs.
