Riyadh to Host Saudi Green Building Forum in October

Under the auspicious of the Minister of Municipalities and Housing Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, Riyadh will host the 14th edition of the Saudi Green Building Forum (SGBF) from October 6-8, 2024, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The forum will see the convergence of several local and international leaders, experts and investors in human and environmentally-friendly services and products.

The ministry has set the following objectives for the events, including:

  • Boosting cooperation between stakeholders
  • Unleashing new avenues of creativity and innovation between partners and specialists to fully achieve green concept procedures and applications
  • Increasing the number of green cities, urban settlements and green projects
  • Reviewing the most prominent developments and best practices in reducing economic losses and increasing social gains of natural disasters, including those related to water and building materials
  • Reducing negative environmental impacts in urban areas and cities
  • Promoting the quality of daily life including the quality of air and waste management
  • Decreasing noise and visual pollution
  • Opening new horizons for cooperation between partners and specialists to implement green building concept procedures
  • Showcasing the Kingdom’s projects to adopt all green concepts

Furthermore, the forum will feature a training workshop in collaboration with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) on the concepts, procedures and applications of sustainable development goals for small and medium-sized companies and institutions.
