Riyadh Hosts First National Greening Forum

The National Center for Vegetation Cover and Combating Desertification (NCVC) is hosting the first National Greening Forum in Riyadh today, according to Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The forum targets all regional and global officials alongside environmental experts and specialists.

The flagship event aims to unify and coordinate national efforts to achieve the goals of the National Afforestation Program.

Therefore, the forum will deeply discuss the main program and how to introduce a better understanding of its goals. The discussions will encourage collaboration between public, private, and non-profit sectors.

The utmost goal is to foster a spirit of cooperation among all the participants towards achieving the ambitious objectives of the Saudi Green Initiative of planting 10 billion trees across the Kingdom.

The National Afforestation Program

The forum will elucidate certain topics of concern including the accomplishments of the National Afforestation Program and its central role to present the Kingdom as a futuristic sustainable environment.

With a valuable opportunity to review the program’s progress, the forum will pay attention to lessons gleaned from successful regional and global projects.

Furthermore, the participants will delve into the challenges of comprehensive restoration projects and key elements for successful tree planting process such as sapling development and seed bank management.
