Riyadh hosted the “CIPS MENA Conference” for Procurement and Supply Chains today, Thursday. The conference was attended by specialists, decision-makers from government, private sectors, and global procurement firms.
The conference, hosted by the Spending Efficiency and Government Projects Authority, showcases the Kingdom’s expertise in procurement and supply chains. Moreover, discussions included sustainable supply chains, local content support, industry localization, supply chain challenges, and digital procurement transformation.
The conference, organized by the non-profit Chartered Institute for Procurement and Supply Chains (CIPS), contributes to supporting knowledge in the field of procurement and supply chains, attracts specialized international bodies to exchange experiences and skills, and build partnerships in this field.
The conference aims to foster partnerships between private sector procurement organizations and government agencies. It also targets procurement and supply chain specialists, government and private sector decision-makers, government procurement beneficiaries, and procurement tech companies.
CIPS is the largest global professional organization specialized in the procurement and supply chain sector. It was founded in the United Kingdom and includes more than 70,000 members worldwide who seek to advance and excel in the procurement sector.
The Spending Efficiency and Government Projects Authority aims to improve spending efficiency, enhance government procurement, boost project quality, plan infrastructure, develop policies, and build national capabilities.
