Riyadh Governor honors winners of King Abdulaziz Camel Festival

Governor of the Riyadh Region Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz congratulated at Al-Hukm Palace, the winners of the first three places in the sixth King Abdulaziz Camel Festival.

The head of the Camel Club and members of the jury as well as the sponsoring firms also honored Prince Faisal bin Bandar at a ceremony conducted on Sunday.

In a speech given during the ceremony, Prince Faisal bin Bandar emphasized that this country is the source of historical authenticity and Arab history, praising the wise leadership’s assistance in conserving this ancient heritage.

“Strengthening Legacy”

Prince Faisal bin Bandar praised the camel owners for their support in promoting the legacy and expressed his pride in what had been shown and accomplished this year.

Engineer Bandar Al-Qahtani, Executive Director of the Camel Club, revealed that the participants used to slap their horses in the (environment) designated for the founder King Abdul Aziz bin Abdul Rahman.

He believes that the moment has come to once again welcome the heroes who have placed high in the King Abdulaziz Camel Festival’s sixth edition competitions to the Palace of Government

A Career Full of Success

Similarly, the Camel club’s Executive Director remarked that the club will continue the festival’s success march.

Everyone ate lunch at His Highness’ table after the ceremony, which included a poem performed by poet Faisal Al-Balad.

At the King Abdulaziz Camel Festival, which celebrated its sixth edition in January, 130 camel owners were awarded.

Over 2,000 people competed in the festival over 42 days in twenty-two categories for a total of SAR 250 million in awards.
