On the occasion of World First Aid Day; The Red Crescent launched an awareness campaign entitled (Take it with you) to raise awareness of the importance of acquiring a first aid kit.
What is first aid?
First aid is defined as the steps that are taken immediately after the injury occurs and in the place where it occurred.
First aid can include cleaning minor cuts or scrapes; treating minor burns and applying bandages,
The decision to act appropriately with first aid can mean the difference between life and death.
When is World First Aid Day 2022?
World First Aid Day falls on the second of September every year, and it is the event of the world reference center for first aid.
World Day is based on raising awareness about how first aid can save lives.
The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies introduced World First Aid Day in 2000,
That’s why more than 100 Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies around the world organize events and celebrations on the second Saturday of September,
This is to raise public awareness of how first aid can save lives every day and in crises.
Objectives of World First Aid Day
- To reduce deaths, injuries, and impacts during disasters and everyday situations.
- To save lives and prevent the disease from getting worse.
- To promote first aid training for all persons.
- To raise awareness of the need for first aid in the event of an accident.
- To give the information and capabilities needed to respond successfully.
- To provide confidence to act when necessary.
