“This will be a working visit, and the talks will be primarily with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Before that we will be in the Emirates. This will also be a working visit, and I hope that this visit will be very good,” added Ushakov according to the Russian “Sputnik” news agency.
Topics of discussion
He explained that Putin will address bilateral relations, the war between Israel and Hamas, and international policy. In addition, the president will tackle reducing oil production within the framework of the OPEC+ alliance, which Russia has joined.
The last time Putin visited Saudi Arabia and the UAE was in 2019, according to the official TASS news agency.
Ushakov stressed to reporters the need to begin a real settlement after the ceasefire and prisoners’ exchange.
“The main thing now is to achieve a long-term truce, because these fragmented truces are useful, but we still want to reach a long-term truce and an exchange of all prisoners and hostages. After that we can start some real work in a calmer atmosphere, and in the context of prospects for resolving the conflict,” said Ushakov.
The Russian presidential aide answered a question about whether Moscow was interested in presenting its own plan for a Palestinian-Israeli settlement.
“Obviously, we will discuss this first and foremost,” he commented.
