Prince of Riyadh honors the winners of the King Faisal International Prize
Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Riyadh region, honored the winners of the King Faisal International Prize for this year 2022 in the Prince Sultan Grand Hall at Al Faisaliah Hotel.
His Royal Highness Prince Khalid Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Governor of Makkah Al-Mukarramah Region, and Chairman of the Prize Authority gave a speech in which he said: It is the King Faisal Prize, his name is Faisal i.e. Al-Faisal distinguishes truth from falsehood, beauty from savagery, and good from the bad. This is how he lived and this is how it went. He does not look like anyone, nor does anyone look like him, may God have mercy on you, Faisal, and may his memory continue in you.
The Secretary-General of the award, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Sabeel announced the names of the winners, who are seven personalities and scholars who contributed to enriching humanity with their important achievements and discoveries and excelled in the fields of serving Islam, Arabic language, literature, medicine, and science.
The Service to Islam Award was awarded to the former President of the United Republic of Tanzania Ali Hassan Mwinyi and Professor Hassan Mahmoud Al-Shafei, while the Arabic Language and Literature Award was awarded to Professor Susan Stetkevich and Professor Mohsen Al-Moussawi. The Medicine Prize for Professor Davidlo, and the Science Prize for Professor Martin Heerer and Professor Nader Al-Masmudi.
The ceremony was attended by His Royal Highness Prince Turki Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz, His Highness Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Faisal, His Royal Highness Prince Miteb bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, His Highness Prince Bandar bin Saud bin Khalid, Secretary-General of the King Faisal Charitable Foundation, a number of Their Highnesses, princes, and members of the diplomatic sector.
