Saudi Arabia has launched the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Award for Cultural Cooperation to enhance cultural exchange with China.
During a special cultural and social event in Riyadh on Wednesday, the award was introduced, highlighting its objectives, categories, diverse prizes, and initiatives, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The Prince Mohammed bin Salman Award for Cultural Cooperation aims to foster cultural collaboration between Saudi Arabia and China.
The event took place with the support of the Saudi Minister of Culture and Chairman of the Award’s Board of Trustees, Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, and with the attendance of the Board of Trustees deputy chairman, Faisal bin Abdulrahman bin Muaammar.
The participants discussed the historical and cultural relations between the Kingdom and China, as well as ways to strengthen bilateral cultural cooperation.
During his speech, bin Muaammar emphasized the significance of the award, named after the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. He also underscored the depth of Saudi-Chinese relations, saying they mark a model of cultural interaction that brings the two countries closer and enriches cross-cultural exchanges.
Furthermore, he noted that the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which prioritizes cultural openness, align with those of China’s Belt and Road Initiative, which seeks to promote global connectivity.
Moreover, bin Muaammar said that the award serves as a model of cultural cooperation that aims to advance mutual development and prosperity, building a brighter future for both countries.
