National Center for E-Learning Launches AI in Digital Education Initiative

The National Center for E-Learning has launched the “AI Sandbox in Digital Learning” initiative, which aims to provide a flexible environment for developers, practitioners, and stakeholders to experiment with and develop innovative artificial intelligence-based solutions. This initiative seeks to foster innovation and advance practices in digital education, thereby enhancing the quality of education and improving its outcomes. Additionally, it promotes investment in the digital economy, aligning with the strategic directions of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

This initiative is the first of its kind at the national level, as it provides a supportive and enabling environment for experts, researchers, practitioners, and developers to experiment with and develop solutions in various fields of digital education. In addition, it supports the acceleration of the adoption of artificial intelligence technologies in the digital education sector.

Furthermore, it aims to build a community of practitioners consisting of experts and researchers in this field. The initiative targets all individuals, including researchers, developers, practitioners, as well as government and private entities that have research experiences or tools and products they wish to test in the application of artificial intelligence in digital education.

AI Sandbox in Digital Learning

The initiative focuses on developing teaching methods using artificial intelligence, adaptive digital content, and skill development. Additionally, this is achieved by providing a set of enablers to meet these goals, which include technical tools and resources that support research, development, and testing processes, access to data and learning environments, expert consultations, and facilitating communication and connections with supporting and funding entities.

It is worth noting that the Experimental Environment Initiative for Artificial Intelligence in Digital Education is part of the strategic initiatives of the National Center for E-Learning, in partnership with several national entities: the Digital Government Authority, the Research, Development, and Innovation Authority, the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises “Monsha’at,” the National Institute for Educational Professional Development, and the National Curriculum Center.
