Muslim World League Welcomes ICJ’s Ruling to Halt Military Operations in Rafah

The Muslim World League (MWL) has welcomed the International Court of Justice (ICJ) order to ‘immediately halt’ Israel’s military operations in Rafah, reported Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

MWL Secretary-General and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al Issa, underscored the great significance of this ruling as a constructive step towards recognizing the legal rights of the Palestinians.

Al Issa, in a statement, urged the international community to fulfill its moral and legal responsibilities by fully enforcing the court’s orders and completely halting the Israeli aggression on the Strip.

Furthermore, he called on the world to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people and safeguard their legitimate rights in accordance with relevant international resolutions.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that Saudi Arabia applauded the ICJ ruling that ordered Israel to halt its military offensive in Rafah.

Saudi Arabia stressed that such international rulings and orders should involve all Palestinian areas in accordance with the international laws.

The Kingdom has called on the international community to halt the ongoing genocide in Gaza and save the civilians from this bloody war.

The ICJ ruled Israel must keep Rafah crossing open for “unhindered” humanitarian aid.

The court also ordered Israel to submit a report to the court within one month containing all measures taken to comply with the order.

It is noteworthy that ICJ rulings are binding, but the court has no power to enforce them. However, the order is anticipated to increase the international pressure on Israel to end the war.
