The International Court of Justice is expected to rule Friday on a plea to halt the Israeli military offensive in Gaza over accusations of “genocide”.
It is worthy to note that lsrael military has announced retrieving three hostages’ bodies during the night in the Jabalia area of northern Gaza, where urban fighting has erupted months after Israeli operations began there.
Witnesses and AFP correspondents reported firing to Gaza City’s south and air and naval strikes during the night. Two distinct raids on apartment complexes in the north and centre of the city resulted in several causalities, according to reports.
According to local source, helicopters were firing at Jabalia refugee camp.
Retrieving Hostages
The military said that bodies of Israeli hostage Chanan Yablonka, Brazilian-Israeli Michel Nisenbaum and French-Mexican Orion Hernandez Radoux had been “rescued”,who were “murdered” during the attack on October 7 and taken into Gaza.
Last week, four bodies of hostages were also recovered from tunnels under Jabalia.
In early May, Israel launched an offensive on Rafah in spite of global opposition. This made more than 800,000 flee, according to UN figures.
“Troops are continuing operations against terror targets” in the southern city, where they had “destroyed weapon storage facilities” said the Israeli army in a statement on Friday.
Doctor Mohammad Saleh, the acting director of Al-Awda hospital said that Israel had been sieging the hospital for five consecutive days.
“Soldiers are present in the hospital’s courtyard and in nearby houses,” said the director.

In January, the court did not order a ceasefire in an interim ruling but instructed Israel to do everything possible to prevent genocide.
South Africa, which filed the case, said that the Israeli aggression on Rafah should result in fresh emergency orders from UN court. On the other hand, Israel says that the case should be dismissed.
International Criminal Court’s prosecutor sought arrest warrants against Netanyahu and his defence minister as well as three Hamas leaders.
Recognizing State of Palestine
Ireland, Spain and Norway announced on Wednesday that they will recognize an independent Palestinian state, reported Sky News.
In response, Israel recalled its ambassadors to Ireland and Norway on Wednesday following their decision to recognize the state of Palestine. Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz said, “History will remember that Spain, Norway and Ireland decided to award a gold medal to the Hamas murderers and rapists, who raped teenage girls and burned babies.”
“Israel will not go over this in silence – their step will have serious consequences,” added Katz, according to BBC.
Netanyahu will address the US Congress, announced House Speaker Mike Johnson.
President Joe Biden has been threatening to halt arms supplies amid a rising civilian death toll.
US, Egyptian and Qatari talks to reach ceasefire ended shortly after Israel refused to consent to a truce proposal agreed on by Hamas and launched the Rafah operation.
However, Netanyahu’s office this week said the war cabinet had asked the Israeli delegation “to continue negotiations for the return of the hostages”.
