Al-Khateeb Explores Tourism Investment Opportunities in Hail

The Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al-Khateeb reviewed the great opportunities available for investment in the tourism sector in Hail with a number of investors and businessmen.

His Excellency pointed out that Hail is one of the most prominent tourist destinations in the Kingdom and represents a unique model in the tourism sector due to its natural diversity, in addition to the historical and cultural significance of the Ministry. He emphasized that the Ministry is keen to enhance its partnership with the private sector, considering it the main driver of the tourism industry.

Tourism Development Fund

Al-Khateeb announced that the Tourism Development Fund is studying support for unique tourism projects worth over one billion riyals, which are expected to contribute to adding more than 850 hotel rooms in the Hail region. He also highlighted that encouraging investments and providing facilities to investors are among the Ministry’s top priorities. He added that the Investment Enablers Program in the tourism sector is one of the initiatives aimed at encouraging investors to invest their capital in the sector, as it works on reducing government fee costs in the hospitality sector by 22%, in addition to the decision to suspend municipal fees on hospitality facilities. It is an additional step in encouraging investments in the sector.

Furthermore, the Minister of Tourism visited several tourist attractions in Hail, including the Fayd Museum, where he reviewed the available facilities for visiting tourists to enrich their experience and enhance the quality of services provided to the region. His Excellency also attended a number of heritage and folk events in the region.

Data on the tourism sector in the Hail region during the first half of 2024 revealed that the total number of domestic and international tourists who visited the region during this period exceeded 1.1 million. Additionally, the number of licensed rooms in these facilities reached nearly 2,600 rooms, and the expenditure of tourists visiting the region in 2023 amounted to 5.1 billion riyals.
