LPTC Launches Children’s Literary Week in Sakaka, Al-Jouf

The Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission (LPTC) has launched Children’s Literary Week at the Culture Center in Sakaka, Al-Jouf Region. The event began on Friday and will continue until September 4.

LPTC CEO Dr. Abdullatif Alwasel emphasized that the initiative reflects the Commission’s ongoing commitment to spreading literary culture across the Kingdom. He explained that the event gives children a platform to explore their creativity and plays a vital role in nurturing a generation that values reading and cultural engagement—supporting the goals of the National Culture Strategy under Saudi Vision 2030.

The week’s program features a rich variety of cultural and creative activities, including workshops for children, youth, and parents, led by specialists in talent development. Visitors can also enjoy literary events such as storytelling sessions, theater performances, competitions, interactive art activities, and more.

In addition, educational and interactive corners have been set up to inspire imagination and deepen children’s early connection with books and literature.

Children’s Literary Week is being held across five regions of the Kingdom, aiming to strengthen children’s reading skills, intellectual abilities, and literary habits. It also seeks to raise cultural awareness, encourage family participation in literary activities, and foster creativity in reading, storytelling, and writing.
