Literature Authority Prepares for Jeddah Book Fair in Dec.
The Literature, Publishing and Translation Authority(LPTA) is preparing to organize the Jeddah Book Fair from 7 to 16 December. It will take place at the “Superdome” Center in Jeddah, as part of the “Book Fairs” initiative.
It is one of the strategic initiatives of the Authority that would expand the establishment of book fairs in KSA.
The 2023 edition of the Jeddah Book Fair will witness the participation of more than 400 local, Arab and international publishing houses.
Book Fair Proceedings
Through its cultural program, the exhibition presents a range of diverse and enriching cultural events and activities to provide an integrated cultural experience for various segments of society, including lectures, cultural workshops, and seminars in which elite experts and intellectuals participate.
The Book Fair will further include poetry evenings, theatrical performances, and educational training corners for children.
Previous Book Fairs
The Jeddah Book Fair is the fourth book fair organized by the Literature, Publishing and Translation Authority this year. Last March, the authority held the Sharqiah Book Fair followed by the Medinah Book Fair last June.
After these two fairs, came the Riyadh International Book Fair which was organized at the end of last September.
This aims to support the access of books to the largest possible segment, and to create multiple outlets for publishing and distribution. This ensures transforming the Kingdom into a major platform in the publishing industry, in line with the National Strategy for Culture emanating from Saudi Vision 2030.
