Literary Editing Workshop Concludes in Jeddah
The literary editing workshop concluded in Jeddah yesterday, reported Saudi Press Agency. Supported by the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission, Encyclopedia of Arabic Literature organized the workshop in collaboration with the Jeddah Literary Club.
40 male and female writers from various regions of the Kingdom participated in the two-day workshop.
The Literary Editing Workshop discussed the most important techniques of creative writing and the development of unique ideas in various writing genres.
Moreover, the workshop tackled the importance of considering cultural aspects using dialogue and a variety of exercises and applications.
Participants commended the workshop’s focus on the literary field. They also thanked the Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission for these quality initiatives and called for more cultural efforts and events in various regions of the Kingdom.
Meeting with Philosophy Enthusiasts
The Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission held a virtual open meeting with specialists and philosophy enthusiasts to listen to their opinions about the challenges facing this sector and to identify the obstacles it encounters.
The commission also aims to address these obstacles and develop them through the Authority’s targets and initiatives.
The contributions of the attendees varied with rich theses aiming at the growth of philosophical activities. Philosophy enthusiasts had several opinions.
Some attendees believed in the importance of integrating philosophy into individuals’ daily lives.
However, others pointed out the necessity of developing a philosophical approach derived from the thoughts and heritage of the community.
