KSrelief Strengthens Ukraine Aid Efforts with Major WHO Partnership

Saudi Arabia’s King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has intensified its humanitarian efforts in Ukraine by signing key agreements and delivering vital medical supplies. The Saudi aid agency’s initiatives aim to provide essential support to those affected by the ongoing conflict.

$2 Million Agreement with WHO

KSrelief signed a $2 million cooperation agreement with WHO to strengthen humanitarian efforts in Ukraine. Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah and Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus signed the deal representing KSrelief and WHO respectively. This agreement was signed on the sidelines of the 79th United Nations General Assembly in New York.

The partnership reflects KSrelief’s commitment to enhancing joint coordination with UN bodies to assist vulnerable communities. In addition to this agreement, Saudi Arabia has pledged $400 million in humanitarian aid to Ukraine, including $100 million from KSrelief and $300 million in oil derivatives financing.

Medical Project for Ukrainian Refugees

As part of its medical initiatives, KSrelief has launched a volunteer medical project to provide prosthetic limbs for Ukrainian refugees. The project runs from September 23 to 29 in Rzeszow, Poland, and has already benefitted seven refugees. This effort is one of KSrelief’s many volunteer medical projects aimed at assisting affected populations worldwide.

Delivery of Ambulances to Ukraine

KSrelief recently delivered 25 ambulances to Ukraine’s Ministry of Health. This is part of a larger commitment to provide 125 vehicles that will support the country’s healthcare system. Officials handed over the ambulances in Poland, where they will transport them across the border to Ukraine.

KSrelief’s health and environmental aid department director, Dr. Abdullah Al-Muallem, officially presented the ambulances to Ukrainian authorities. Saudi Arabia’s ongoing commitment to aid Ukraine includes the delivery of medical supplies, shelter equipment, and electrical generators via 21 aircraft.

Supporting Ukrainian Refugees in Neighboring Countries

In addition to providing direct aid to Ukraine, KSrelief has also signed two agreements with WHO and the UN Refugee Agency to offer $10 million in medical and shelter aid to Ukrainian refugees in neighboring countries, especially Poland. These efforts are part of Saudi Arabia’s larger humanitarian mission, which has seen extensive support for global crises.

Saudi Arabia’s continued efforts underscore its leadership in international humanitarian aid, aiming to alleviate the suffering of war-torn communities while coordinating with international organizations.
