The General Presidency for Grand Mosque Affairs revealed the resumption of the contractor of the third Saudi expansion project for the packages of structural works and architectural finishes.
This expansion is to accommodate the number of pilgrims and worshipers during the blessed Hajj season, with a total surface area of 519,149 square meters.
Among these expansions are the King Abdullah expansion projects, and the project to raise the capacity of the Mataf building.
The resumption of work includes, for example, the works of the main gates and beacons (King Abdulaziz Gate, Bab Al-Umrah, and Bab Al-Fath).
The agency confirmed the completion of the works of installing suspended ceilings on the floors of the terminal building, and the completion of the works of the mezzanine project of the second floor.
The agency undertakes the completion of works, support services, and infrastructure projects packages in coordination with the Construction Management Office of the Ministry of Finance.
The agency discussed plans, projects, work programs, and various implementation stages for the remaining and targeted works, during the current stage.
It is also working on preparing the areas designated for the Umrah season for the year (2021 – 2022) according to the areas and paths approved in the grouping plans.
The Agency for Projects and Engineering Studies confirmed the completion of the works, due to their readiness and for the pilgrims to benefit from these blessed expansions and their services during the Umrah season.
The General President of Grand Mosque Affairs directed to speed up the pace of work and raise the level of readiness, to provide the best services and ways for the convenience of the pilgrims.
