KSA Leap into Electric Vehicle Manufacturing with Siemens

CEER, Saudi Arabia’s first electric vehicle (EV) brand and a subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund, has partnered with Siemens. This collaboration aims to digitize and automate CEER’s electric vehicle manufacturing facility in King Abdullah Economic City.

CEER aspires to contribute approximately $8 billion to Saudi Arabia’s GDP by 2034. Siemens will provide an extensive training program for 100 CEER engineers.

CEO’s Vision for Global Leadership

CEER’s CEO, Jim DeLuca, views the partnership with Siemens as crucial for positioning Saudi Arabia at the forefront of the global electric vehicle industry. He stresses the importance of integrating cutting-edge digital manufacturing technologies for efficiency and productivity.

Siemens’ approach to automation focuses on digitizing factory operations. Their SIMATIC control units will enable comprehensive automation of CEER’s manufacturing processes. This includes robots, production lines, and transport systems, with integrated safety functions.

Fawaz Al-Shammari, Vice President at Siemens Saudi Arabia, expressed confidence in the future of the Saudi electric vehicle industry led by CEER. Siemens is dedicated to elevating the Saudi automotive manufacturing sector by introducing advanced digital industrial technologies and solutions.

Siemens‘ commitment to sustainable growth in Saudi Arabia is evident through technology localization and talent development initiatives. These efforts aim to boost local content and support national industrial development programs.
