Kingdom Participates in 3rd Meeting of HLG-IGIF

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the General Authority for Surveying and Geospatial Information, took part in the third meeting of the High-Level Group for the Integrated Geospatial Information Framework (HLG-IGIF), according to Saudi Press Agency.

The event was hosted in Aguascalientes, Mexico, from January 22nd to 26th, 2024. Dr. Engineer Mohammed bin Yahya Al-Saile, head of the General Authority for Surveying and Geospatial Information and the leader of the Arab Committee of United Nations Experts for Geospatial Information Management, represented the Kingdom.

Strategic Discussions, Open Dialogue

During the meeting, attendees discussed the strategic plan, current priority objectives, and the progress made in the team’s action plan.

The Authority head and the Committee participated in a session, discussing the Integrated Geospatial Information Framework.

This meeting also focused on the framework’s workshop outcomes and main recommendations from the Arab Committee’s tenth meeting of UN Geospatial Information Management experts

Leadership, Global Involvement

Additionally, the Kingdom emphasized its role as the chair of the Arab Committee of United Nations Experts for Geospatial Information Management, stewarded the committee’s secretariat, and maintained membership in the global committee of UN experts for Geospatial Information Management.
