Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Hamad bin Muhammad Al Al-Sheikh, King Faisal University is organizing the First International Conference on Food Security and Environmental Sustainability in the period: 4-6 Shaban 1443 AH corresponding to 7-9 March 2022, at the university headquarters in Al-Ahsa.
The conference will take place in cooperation with its strategic partners, the Ministry of Environment and Water and Agriculture, and the Arab Organization for Education, Culture, and Science (ALECSO).
His Excellency the President of the University, Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulaziz Al-Ohali, explained that this conference comes in light of the “Green Saudi Arabia” and “Green Middle East” initiatives launched by His Highness the Crown Prince for the sake of environmental sustainability.
This conference comes from the perspective of the institutional identity of King Faisal University, which aims to contribute to achieving food security and environmental sustainability, intending to study the reality of national and Arab food security, its challenges, and ways to overcome them, and building future strategies and policies that contribute to its development and achieve environmental sustainability.
The President of the University praised His Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Hamad bin Muhammad Al Al-Sheikh, for his great sponsorship and support for this conference, indicating that the university will organize an introductory meeting for the conference on Sunday 12 Rajab 1443 AH corresponding to February 13, 2022 AD at 11 am and via the video communication platform.
The meeting will be with the participation of His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Eng. Mansour bin Hilal Al-Mushaiti, and His Excellency the Director-General of the Arab Organization for Education, Culture and Science “ALECSO” Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar.
During the meeting, a presentation will be given about the conference, the inauguration of the visual identity, and the website, in the presence of the media for those interested in food security and environmental sustainability.
