Russian President Vladimir Putin stated today, Monday, at the “Kazan World Youth Summit,” that Islamic countries are Russia’s traditional partners in addressing current issues on the regional and global agenda.

According to the Russian “Sputnik” news agency, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, read Russian President Vladimir Putin’s greetings to the participants, saying: “The Islamic countries are our traditional partners in resolving many current issues on the regional and global agenda, within the framework of efforts to build a more just and democratic world order.”
Putin noted that young people must participate in such multifaceted constructive interactions.
“The selection of Kazan as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s “youth capital” demonstrates Russia’s strong ties with this official international structure,” Putin added.
According to Putin, the meeting of young people in Kazan, which will be attended by hundreds of delegates from dozens of countries, will strengthen mutual understanding and trust among our people.
The “Kazan World Youth Summit” began on August 27 in Kazan and will conclude on Tuesday.
It will be attended by Organisation of Islamic Cooperation OIC ministers of youth and sports affairs, ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiaries, OIC consuls general, leaders of youth organizations, representatives from International youth policy organizations, opinion leaders, young entrepreneurs, and members of the scientific community.
