Iran Claims Destruction of Several US Aircrafts during High-Stakes Pilot Rescue

Iranian military officials confirmed on Sunday that their forces destroyed several “enemy aircraft” during a US search and rescue mission. The confrontation took place in the southern region of the Isfahan province as American teams sought a stranded airman.
Dramatic Rescue in Isfahan
US officials informed Reuters late Saturday that they successfully rescued a second airman following the crash of an F-15 jet. This recovery occurred exactly one day after specialized teams safely extracted the first crew member from the Iranian wilderness.
Despite the successful recovery of the pilot, Iranian commanders insist that the American mission suffered significant and costly hardware losses. “Additional investigations by experts on the ground revealed that two C-130 military transport planes and two Black Hawk helicopters of the US army were destroyed by our forces,” stated the spokesperson of the unified command of Iranian armed forces.
The Iranian army and the Revolutionary Guards released separate statements claiming the downing of two high-tech unmanned aerial vehicles. These reports specifically identified an Israeli Hermes-900 drone and a US MQ-9 Reaper drone as targets in the Isfahan province. Consequently, the Iranian military has heightened its alert status across the central region to prevent further incursions by foreign assets.
Geographic Scope of Operations
The semi-official Fars news agency reported that US search operations spanned three different provinces starting from late Saturday evening. These operations focused on the mountainous areas of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad, and the central Isfahan province.
Although Iran has provided detailed lists of destroyed equipment, Reuters could not immediately verify these accounts through independent military sources. However, the situation remains fluid as both nations continue to monitor the border for any additional signs of military escalation.
