China’s Consulate General in Jeddah, in partnership with Wisdom House Chinese Language Education, hosted a ceremony on December 25 to celebrate the winners of the second Chinese calligraphy competition, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Themed “Ink Conveys Emotions, Calligraphy Paints Friendship,” the ceremony is part of the Saudi–Chinese Cultural Year 2025, bringing together China’s Consul General in Jeddah, Wang Qimin, alongside officials, academics, and cultural figures invested in bolstering ties between the two nations.
The competition featured the participation of more than 300 works submitted by amateur and seasoned calligraphers from across the Kingdom.
This broad participation stands as a testament to the rich cultural partnership and intellectual exchange between China and Saudi Arabia.
A specialized judging panel evaluated the works across youth and adult categories, awarding the grand prize alongside first, second, and third honors, as well as excellence distinctions, bringing the total number of winners to 78.
The judging panel also recognized educational institutions and specialized institutes with a special award for distinctive performance.
To celebrate the participants’ remarkable talents, the winning calligraphy works will soon go on display in intermediate and secondary public schools across the Kingdom.
