The Ministry of Culture today inaugurated the Common Ground Festival at Malfa Hall in Misk City, Riyadh, as part of the Saudi–China Cultural Year, launching a vibrant celebration of creativity and cultural dialogue between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the People’s Republic of China.
Running until January 6, 2026, the festival offers visitors an immersive journey into shared cultural traditions through a rich program of exhibitions and live performances that highlight the connections between the two civilizations. Designed for families, international visitors, official delegations, and cultural professionals, the festival features an art exhibition alongside a newly introduced Cultural Street experience, where handicrafts, performances, music, and interactive activities blend Saudi and Chinese cultural expressions to foster mutual understanding.
Previous editions of the Common Ground Festival hosted the Republic of Yemen and the Republic of Iraq, drawing large audiences and strong engagement from intellectuals and culture enthusiasts. Moreover, these successful editions have cemented the festival’s standing as an annual platform celebrating human diversity and cross-cultural exchange.
Through this initiative, the Ministry of Culture seeks to present Saudi culture in an engaging global context, highlighting both shared elements and distinctive characteristics across cultures. The festival also supports cultural diversity, empowers artists and creators, expands international cultural cooperation, and strengthens strategic partnerships to advance the creative industries—supporting the goals of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and the National Culture Strategy.
