In Photos: Saudi Esports Federation Museum Crystalizes the History of Esports

The Saudi Esports Federation Museum has impressed the visitors and participants in the Esports World Cup with various pavilions showcasing the history of esports in the Kingdom, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

Located in the SEF Arena, affiliated to the Riyadh City Boulevard, the museum offers exceptional tours full of background information about the vision of the federation and its promising initiatives.

The pavilions also show the history of games and electronic sports in the Kingdom and the achievements of the Saudi national team and players at the local and international levels.

The museum also featured several pavilions reviewing the most prominent projects launched since the establishment of the federation in 2017 up to the Electronic Sports World Cup.

The museum is part of Esports World Cup, the largest event in the history of the gaming and electronic sports sector.

The cup includes the largest prize pool in Esports history with more than $60 million for the inaugural Esports World Cup (EWC) this summer in Riyadh. The historic prize pool of over $60 million stands as a testament to the Esport World Cup Foundation‘s pursuit to flourish the global esports industry while providing more sustainable career options for athletes and clubs.

EWC aims at increasing the gaming sector’s contribution to Saudi Arabia’s GDP by more than $ 13.3 billion and boosting its position as a pioneering hub for hosting worldwide prestigious events.

In 2023, Saudi launched ‘The National Gaming and Esports Strategy (NGES) to foster the Kingdom’s status as a center of the competitive gaming world by 2030.

Last year, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz established the Esports World Cup Foundation, a non-profit organization that aims at opening a new era of collaboration between esports stakeholders and enhancing the sector’s sustainability.
