The International Center for Artificial Intelligence Research and Ethics (ICAIRE), a UNESCO Category II Center based in Riyadh, has been awarded a Certificate of Excellence for its exceptional role in the inaugural International Artificial Intelligence Olympiad (IAIO), held in September 2024. The award was presented at the closing ceremony of the Global AI Summit in Geneva, highlighting a significant milestone in ICAIRE’s mission to promote ethical and inclusive AI worldwide.

This recognition reflects ICAIRE’s growing influence in the global AI community.
Co-organized by ICAIRE and the International Research Center on Artificial Intelligence (IRCAI) in Slovenia, the IAIO brought together 90 young AI innovators from 25 countries to compete in advanced fields such as machine learning, robotics, and computer vision. The event not only celebrated technical excellence but also underscored the importance of ethical responsibility—core values at the heart of ICAIRE’s vision for responsible AI development.
