Global Harmony 2 Initiative Spotlights Philippine Craftsmanship

The Philippine Culture Days event has stunned Al-Suwaidi Park’s visitors in Riyadh with a unique showcase of Filipino traditional heritage.

Running under the “Global Harmony 2” initiative, the event has attracted a large turnout of citizens and residents, with several pavilions and activities highlighting various aspects of Filipino life, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

Organized by the Saudi Media Ministry, in collaboration with the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) and under the Quality of Life Program, the Philippine Culture Days event features a vibrant showcase of traditional attire, folklore shows, handicrafts and decorative arts.

Through eight pavilions, the event displays various techniques for traditional clothing weaving, seashell artistry, and ornaments and jewelry creation. Furthermore, it showcases a captivating collection of handmade artworks, allowing visitors to explore the authenticity of Philippine handicrafts and interact with the artisans.

Diverse traditional handicrafts are a distinctive feature of the Philippines, reflecting the richness of its local communities and ancient cultures. Using natural resources such as bamboo, abaca, wood and seashells, these handicrafts blend artistic beauty, manual skills and traditions, passing down through generations.

The Philippine Culture Days event also presents musical concerts and folklore performances, featuring Filipino artists and influencers, drawing large crowds of music and art enthusiasts from different nationalities.

Moreover, the event includes daily activities, such as music performances, entertainment shows, children’s games, handicrafts, and mouthwatering culinary experiences.

Aimed at promoting understanding and exchange among communities by highlighting the lives of expatriates in Saudi Arabia, the “Global Harmony 2” initiative has so far highlighted 11 global cultures, with 3 other cultures to be displayed.

Kicking off in November 2025, the initiative has attracted over 2 million visitors, showcasing various aspects of expatriates’ lives, including their professional and family lives, their contribution to the Kingdom’s economy, and their success stories.
