GEA Chairman Announces Over SAR 4 Billion in New Agreements at Joy Forum 2025

The Joy Forum 2025 — one of the world’s premier gatherings for the entertainment industry — opened Thursday at Riyadh’s Boulevard City, with General Entertainment Authority (GEA) Chairman Turki Alalshikh presiding over the launch.

In his keynote address, Alalshikh highlighted that the Kingdom’s remarkable progress in the entertainment sector has been achieved through the unwavering support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He credited the sector’s rapid growth to the leadership’s vision and the transformative goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

Looking ahead, Alalshikh revealed that the first phase of the Qiddiya project — featuring the highly anticipated Six Flags Qiddiya, one of the flagship initiatives spearheaded by the Crown Prince — is set to open later this year.

The GEA chairman also announced the signing of investment and development agreements valued at more than SAR 4 billion for the upcoming year. These agreements will fund a diverse portfolio of new entertainment projects and events across the Kingdom.

Vision 2030

Reflecting on the Vision 2030 journey, which began in 2016, Alalshikh emphasized that while the timeline has been relatively short, the achievements have been extraordinary — positioning Saudi Arabia as a global hub for major international events and one of the world’s most dynamic tourism destinations.

He further commended the strong collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, noting that their joint efforts have significantly boosted visitor numbers and revenues, making Saudi Arabia the second-highest in tourism revenue in the region last year. Alalshikh also praised the partnership with the Ministry of Culture for its vital role in promoting cultural and creative initiatives throughout the Kingdom.
