The French railway company “SNCF” announced that it was hit today, Friday, by a massive and wide-ranging attack aimed at crippling its high-speed train network, just hours before the opening ceremony of the 33rd Summer Olympic Games “Paris 2024”.

The company stated in a press release, “Some trains will be diverted to the traditional line, but it confirmed that it will have to cancel a large number of routes. It is expected that this situation will continue throughout the weekend at least until repairs are made.”
The incident comes at a time when all eyes are on the French capital, which is hosting the “Paris 2024” Olympics, coinciding with the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games that will be held today outside the main stadium for the first time in history. Traditionally, spectators have attended this event from the stands, amid tight security measures. The French company did not mention the identity or motives of the attacker in its statement.
